STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Kristen has a passion for making her classroom fun and engaging for all students. Her activities are student centered and focused on individual needs. She is always striving to improve and become a better educator. Additionally, she has a strong desire to make Salt Fork North Elementary a better place. She is willing to help out in a wide variety of ways and always there for others.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Emily has taught at VASE for 3 years. She is an amazing advocate for her students and families. She is constantly looking for new, creative and innovative teaching stratagies. Emily has a deep passion for teaching and seeing success in her students learning and growth. She was recently awarded grant money to provide interacitve lessons with her students during remote learning. Emily is highly respected by staff within each of her servicing buildings. She collaborates with her staff to meets students needs. VASE is lucky to have her!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mr. Hightower is our head custodian at Garfield Elementary, in Danville, and he goes above and beyond for our students and staff daily. He builds authentic relationships with our students in addition to helping keep them healthy and safe. There have been many additional tasks given to our custodial staff due to Covid-19 and Mr. Hightower has accepted the change and remained diligent, always working with a positive attitude. I know whether I ask Mr. Hightower to do a clean up or escort students in the hallway, he is always willing and attentive to every request. Thank you Mr. Hightower for all of your hard work!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Leslea Thompson deserves to step into the spotlight. She is dedicated, hard working, and always persisting through any challenges that may arise. Administration, staff, and students, at Pine Crest Elementary in Georgetown, appreciate having Leslea on our team!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Wills is a 4th grade teacher at Meade Park Elementary School. Mrs. Wills does an excellent job of building relationships with each of her students and helping them to reach their full potential. As a full time remote teacher, Mrs. Wills has created an environment in which her students enjoy logging into on a daily basis. Whether she’s teaching in a costume, using humor, or challenging her students to raise the bar, Mrs. Wills is providing her students with experiences that promote personal and academic growth.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Paxton-Buckley-Loda's teacher, Hillary Sawyer, has taken on the brand new role of “remote learning coordinator”.
She has been a liaison to our families, provided PD for teachers, has assisted with technology resources and continues to support students who are in-person. Hillary is also our JH Scholastic Bowl coach and has experience teaching EL & gifted populations. She’s a "go-to" among our teacher leaders.

Patricia has taught in Danville District 118 for many years. She is always very eager to learn new things and adapt to new situations. This year she has demonstrated great patience and flexibility, and has been willing to teach wherever duty calls. Mrs. Muniru has taught multiple grade levels, learned new programs, and adapted well to a virtual world this year. We appreciate her dedication to the students in District 118. STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Poulson is a Kindergarten Teacher at Meade Park Elementary School and also serves as the building PBIS Coordinator. In addition to being an excellent teacher and an amazing resource to her students, she is also the glue that holds our staff together! Mrs. Poulson will often take the initiative to develop activities or initiatives to keep staff morale high during these challenging times. Mrs. Poulson advocates for her students and treats each kid like one of her own. Mrs. Poulson exemplifies everything that’s good at the Park!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Ms. Andrea Palmer is an amazing teacher that goes above and beyond for her students on a daily basis. Ms. Palmer is a teacher that is highly respected throughout the building by both staff and students. Ms. Palmer's professionalism, high expectations for students, positive perspective, and genuine care for staff and students make her a "Rock Star" teacher at Salt Fork High School!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Alison Bartlow, at Armstrong Township High School, continually works to make sure students have the opportunities to be successful. She will help out in anyway she can. She will make sure papers and even lunches get delivered to remote learners when needed. She pushes all students to be the best they can be. She doesn't let students give up.
